The 2017-18 video team of James Lear, Micaela Boettcher and Gage Bailey took 2nd place out of 150+ teams at the National TSA competition in Atlanta, GA in the On-Demand video category. They also took 2nd place at the Washington State On-Demand video competition this year. Their entries are below.
The 2016-17 video team of James Lear, Brandon & Sean Canonica, Micaela Boettcher and Abbi Dohse took 1st Place in the Washington State On-Demand Video competition and placed fifth in Digital Video Production, advancing to Nationals in Orlando Florida! Below are the National and Washington State entries and some pics from those competitions.

The following competitions are closely related to Visual Communications and Digital Photography:
- Board Game Design: Participants develop, build, and package a board game that focuses on the subject of their choice. The game should be interesting, exciting, visually appealing, and intellectually challenging. Each team will have to design the packaging, instructions, pieces, and cards associated with creating and piloting a new board game.
- Children's Stories: Theme: Create a book for students in pre-k to 1st grade that showcases/promotes engineering. The solution must also include an activity to accompany the book for teachers to use with their students.
- Digital Video Production: Design Challenge: A day in the life - self, school, family, friends, etc.
- Music Production: Participants produce an original musical piece that is designed to be played during the National TSA Conference opening or closing general sessions.
- On-Demand Video: Participants write, shoot, and edit a 60–second video onsite during the conference.
- Photography Technology: Theme: Challenges - personal, school, family, friends, etc.
- Promotional Design: Design Challenge: TSA chapter advisors are attending a fictitious special interest session at the National TSA Conference. They have come to learn about a new piece of STEM equipment for chapter members to use in their classroom that your fictitious company is selling
